In the summer of 2017, KFC launched their very first online store full of small batch bespoke goods hand-crafted by the hands of expert craftsmen. Just kidding. Everything was mass produced by machines in a huge warehouse. But each and every piece was designed by the extremely talented designers in WK's studio.  

My partners in conceptual crime on this project were Katie McHugh and Mike Weihs. Together, we came up with the theme of the store and the types of items we should sell. Katie and Mike oversaw all of the product design while I got busy writing some product descriptions.

There were plenty of other products: chicken socks, jewelry and of course, a Zinger chicken sandwich shaped real meteorite that sold for $20,000.

The results? A sold out store, love from millions of hipsters and a ton of press coverage including this article from Esquire (ESQUIRE!) with the best headline we could have hoped for:


I still don't understand how we got fried chicken fashion and accessories into the pages of Cosmopolitan, Esquire, GQ and Teen Vogue, but here we are. It's a brave new world.
